Tod is a tad above the rest at North Oaks...
As the Masters League returned to North Oaks Bowl for the second time in a few short weeks, a bit tighter lane condition produced a different scoring scenario than we saw on our previous visit.  The standout performance of the night was an individual one belonging to Matt Tod (300,236,279 = 815) -- 70 pins better than anyone else in the league!

In team competition for the evening, Concord Bowl (3377) trounced Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service (3135) by a scoring margin not fully reflected in the point spread of 28-12.  In an all-around close match, Reed & Scharf Construction (3199) pretty much got a split out of West County Lanes (3233) -- falling just a bit short at 19-21.  Bully's Smokehouse (3370) smoked out Team Ebonite (3310) in a match where the actual pinfall was much closer than the point spread of 26-14.  And finally, led by the "Todder,"  Lightfoot's St. Charles Lanes (3433) put a shellacking to AAmco Transmissions (3120) for a 32.5 to 7.5 victory.

At the end of the night, it was Bully's Smokehouse that was going for the big $$$ as they had their ticket pulled in the evening's Strike Pot drawing.  Making the shots on Bully's behalf, Derrick Matson was a likely candidate to break the bank...having come off a nice 732 series for the evening...but a solid seven after three strikes resulted in a roll-over of the entire pot to next week.

Brockland's still hanging on to the league's average lead at 233.85.

Next week the St. Louis Masters League heads into the western suburbs of St. Charles County for a stop at Cave Springs Lanes.  Take a short ride out I-70 to the Cave Springs exit and see if the Masters Leaguers can master the sometimes difficult carry at next week's venue.  The action starts, as always, at 7:00pm and will feature yet another bowling ball raffle, courtesy of our generous sponsors!
